Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Everyone working for or visiting our Facilities has a responsibility to understand and implement this policy and procedure at all times.

Everyone at Second Steps has a right to feel safe, secure and be protected from harm.

How we safeguard?

  • Using the information we receive—especially when concerns are raised—to assess potential risks to the people using our services.

  • Referring any concerns for further investigation when necessary.

  • Carrying out inspections, speaking directly with those who use our services to identify possible safeguarding issues.

  • Publishing our safeguarding findings through our reports and written materials.

  • Working closely with partners such as the police, local authorities, health agencies, other regulators, and government departments.

  • Participating in multi-agency safeguarding inspections to gain a comprehensive understanding of people’s experiences and how effectively they are being protected.
